Full Terms and Conditions


1. Promotion
This promotion is only open to residents of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), aged 18 years or over. Proof of age and residence may be required. 

2. Promoter and Data Controller
The Promoter and Data Controller is Muller UK & Ireland Group LLP (t/a Muller Yogurt & Desserts), a limited liability partnership registered in England with partnership number OC384928 whose registered office is at Shrewsbury Rd, Market Drayton, Shropshire TF9 3SQ, United Kingdom. Entries to this address will NOT be accepted. 

3. Exclusions
Promotion excludes employees and their immediate families of: the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies; any agencies or suppliers involved with the promotion or its administration; and anyone else professionally connected with the promotion or its administration.

4. Final Decision
The Promoter’s decision is final on all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. Internet Access
Internet access is required. Only online entries will be accepted, save for entries from Northern Ireland residents who can alternatively enter by post.

6. Promotional Dates
The “Promotional Period” opens on 01.08.19 and closes on 31.10.19. Promotional Packs are anticipated to be available in participating stores from 01.08.19, subject to availability. Entries received after the closing date will not be accepted. 

7. Promotional Packs
A “Promotional Pack” is a promotional pack of Müller Rice (6 x 180g) ‘Going the Distance’ variant, flashed with “WIN A GUIDED RUNNING TOUR IN NEW YORK”. 

8. Promotional Codes
A “Promotional Code” is a unique 8 digit alphanumeric code, example: L23R5WZ9. Each Promotional Code can be found printed on the insert card inside the wrapper of a Promotional Pack. Each Promotional Code qualifies for one entry. There is no limit on the number of entries during the Promotional Period. If there is no insert card inside a Promotional Pack or the Promotional Code is not legible then entrants should contact consumers@muller.co.uk.

9. How to enter – residents in the UK and ROI:
After buying a Promotional Pack, entrants must log on to www.mullerrice.com (the “Website”), enter the Promotional Code, answer a qualifying question correctly (ROI only) and insert their full name, address (including UK postcode), email address and telephone number (where the entrant can be contacted in case of being selected as a winner). Only valid Promotional Codes will be accepted during the Promotional Period.

10. How to alternatively enter – residents in Northern Ireland:
Northern Ireland residents can alternatively obtain a Promotional Code without purchase by sending their full name, address (including postcode), and valid email address on a piece of paper to: “Müller Rice Going The Distance Promotion, c/o ATOM Marketing Ltd, 3 Thorp House, Thorp Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 1LJ, UK”. If the entrant qualifies for a free entry, the Promoter’s marketing agency shall issue one (1) Promotional Code to the entrant via email within 10 (ten) working days of receipt of the request. The Promoter will not accept any Northern Ireland free Promotional Code requests after 28.10.19. On receipt of a free Promotional Code, the entrant must follow the entry instructions in paragraph 9. *

11. No Responsibility
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries or communications that are misdirected, lost, delayed, damaged, corrupted or not received during delivery to or from the Promoter due to any transmission, network or software problems, computer malfunction, virus, bug, delay, postal strike, postal issue or any other reason whatsoever. Proof of electronic submission or postal delivery is not proof of receipt of entry. All entries, except for any personal data contained therein, become the property of the Promoter. No entries can be returned or copied to the entrant.

12. The Website
The Promoter will do all that it reasonably can to ensure that the Website is functioning correctly throughout the Promotional Period. However, the Promoter will not be responsible for defects or malfunctions in the operation of the Website howsoever caused which affect the operation of the promotion. 

13. Prize Draw
There will be one (1) prize draw in total. Entries received during the Promotional Period will be entered into the prize draw from which 1 (one) prize winner will be selected. The prize draw will take place on 04.11.19. Entries are valid for 1 (one) prize draw only. The prize winner will be selected at random by an automatic computer generated random draw programme. The winner will be subject to a verification process to confirm that the winner satisfies these terms and conditions. Following the verification process, the winner will be notified by email, telephone or post within 3 (three) working days of the draw. If the prize winner does not respond to the notification of their win within 28 (twenty eight) days of the initial email, telephone call or letter notification, this will result in their prize being forfeited and an alternative winner will be selected based on a reserve chosen at the time of the original draw and under the same terms and conditions as the original draw. The new prize winner will be notified within 3 (three) working days of being selected. Entrants should retain the insert card inside the Promotional Pack as the Promoter retains the right to ask for confirmation of the Promotional Code.

14. Prize
There is one (1) prize in total available. The “Prize” consists of the following package for 2 persons (the winner may be accompanied by a person under 18):   

  • Return economy flights from a major international UK airport (or Dublin or Shannon for ROI winner) nearest to the winner’s home, where suitable direct flights are available to New York, USA (including one item of checked luggage per person); 
  • Return airport transfers in New York, USA;
  • 5 (five) nights hotel accommodation in New York, USA in either a double or twin room (minimum 4 (four) star rating) with breakfast included only; 
  • 2 (two) hour bespoke private running tour in New York, USA including transfers and water;
  • Gourmet pre-prepared picnic in Central Park for 2 (two) people with food and drink, set up and clean up;
  • £500/€600 travel allowance payable by cheque or bank transfer prior to the agreed departure date (to be provided by the Promotor’s prize fulfilment agency, Element London) which will cover the cost of UK/ROI outbound airport transfers; and
  • Standard cover travel insurance (subject to restrictions set out below and the terms and conditions of the insurance provider). 

Prize Exclusions: The Prize does not include: meals and drinks, activities or excursions (other than those stated above); attractions; treatments; UK/ROI domestic transfers; car hire or other transportation; visas; personal expenses; or anything not expressly included in the Prize. Travellers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and have parental/guardian permission. All elements of the prize must be taken at the same time. Subject to any exceptional circumstances, once booked, the Prize cannot be altered or amended.

Travel Restrictions: All travellers will be each responsible for ensuring that they; (i) hold full ePassports with the necessary validity period (at least 6 months at the time of travel); (ii) hold any required travel documentation including any specific travel visas; (iii) comply with any health recommendations or visa restrictions at the time of travelling; and (iv) have no legal barrier to enter the United States. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any costs, liability or damages incurred as a result of: (i) any traveller being refused entry into the United States; (ii) failure to follow any government travel advice or warnings; or (iii) lost or stolen flight tickets. Flights: The Winner must provide 3 (three) preferred travel dates to the Promotor’s marketing agency, subject to the excluded dates below. The Promoter’s marketing agency will arrange the dates and times of the flights, which will be subject to times, availability and any changes made by the airline or travel provider. All travellers must travel on the same flight. Any name changes to the flights will be provided at the discretion of the airline or travel provider and the winner will be solely responsible for any associated costs. The Prize is subject to availability and cannot be taken over the following dates: 21st December 2019 to 2nd January 2020; over UK/ROI bank holidays; or Easter weekend. The Prize is valid for 12 months from date of win notification, and all travel must be booked and completed during that period. 

Hotel: The winner and their traveller’s stay at the hotel will be subject to the hotel’s terms and conditions. All incidental costs (e.g. room service, mini bar etc.) are excluded from the Prize. A valid credit card with sufficient funds available will be required for security deposit purposes when checking into the hotel. 

Insurance: Standard cover travel insurance will be provided for UK citizens only. For ROI winners, the cost of standard cover travel insurance will be reimbursed upon receipt of a valid insurance certificate. Travel insurance is subject to the restrictions and terms and conditions of the insurance provider. It is the responsibility of the winner and/or their travel companion to meet any additional costs relating to obtaining insurance cover for any pre-existing medical condition and for any additional costs as may be specified where the winner and/or their companion are aged 70 or over.

Other: All travellers are responsible for their own behaviour whilst taking the Prize. The Promoter reserves the right in its absolute discretion to exclude the winner and/or their traveller from participation in the Prize if they act in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to the public, is anti-social in any manner, or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to others. All travellers must comply with the relevant terms and conditions of the hotel, airline, other transport providers, and venues involved in the Prize. In particular, they must comply with all health and safety guidelines and instructions and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and local laws. 

15. Health & Safety
Aspects of the Prize include moderate intensity exercise which will require a reasonable level of fitness to participate. If you are in any doubt or would be unable to partake in aspects of the Prize then we recommend that you seek medical advice and advise the Promotor’s marketing agency when contacted about the Prize win, so they can make any alternative arrangements or adjustments to aspects of the Prize where appropriate (to the same value as the Prize). If you have an existing health condition, are pregnant, or you are recovering from injury or illness, you must obtain advice from your GP before participating. You may be required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear at all times when participating in aspects of the Prize, e.g. running shoes and sports clothing.

16. Limitations and Non-Transferable
A cash alternative will not be offered and the Prize in whole or in part is non-transferable. No alternative Prize will be offered in whole or in part, except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute or provide a similar alternative Prize of equal or greater value. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoter, the Prize will only be awarded directly to the winner. 

17. No Liability 
The Promoter is not an organiser of holidays and to the fullest extent permissible by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered or sustained by a winner as a result of a winner’s participation in the promotion, redemption of the Prize, or any other loss or damage in connection with or in any way relating to the Prize. 

18. No Responsibility
The Promoter does not take responsibility for, recommend or guarantee the performance of any contractual or other obligations of any third parties associated with the Prize and shall not be liable for any acts or omissions (including fraud) by any third party. 

19. Publication of Prize Winner
The entrant acknowledges and agrees that, if they become a Prize winner, their first name, county and country may be published by the Promoter on its social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and in other media at the Promoter’s sole discretion. However, the Prize winner may object to this, if they wish. 

20. Details of Prize Winner
Unless the winner objects, the name, county and country of the prize winner will be available by sending an email request to consumers@muller.co.uk after 01.12.19 for a period of 3 months. Entries to this address will NOT be accepted.  

21. Unpaid Publicity
The prize winner may be required to participate in unpaid publicity as required by the Promoter.

22. Disqualification
If it becomes apparent that an entrant is attempting to circumvent these terms and conditions for example, by the use of ‘script’, ‘brute force’ or any other automated means, or in any way whatsoever, that person’s entries will be disqualified and any prize award will be void. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the terms and conditions (or any part thereof). Entry instructions on-pack, on-line and in any other marketing materials form part of these terms and conditions. All entries must be made directly by the person entering the promotion, and entries made by a third party or with automated devices or processes are not allowed.

23. Verification
The Promoter reserves the right to verify any prize claim including, but not limited to, name, address and Promotional Code. 

24. Right to Suspend, Vary or Cancel
The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, vary or cancel the promotion without notice if circumstances make this unavoidable.

25. Personal Information
The Promoter will collect personal information from the entrant for the purposes of administering this promotion and will share this personal information with the following third parties who will be supporting the Promoter with the promotion:

  • Promoter’s marketing agency who will help administer the promotion: ATOM Marketing Ltd - a company registered in England with company number 05627228, whose registered office is at 3 Thorp House, Thorp Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 1LJ, UK; 
  • Promoter’s prize fulfilment agency engaged on behalf of its marketing agency, ATOM: Element London Limited - a company registered in England with company number 07073848, whose registered office is at 5 Morie Street, London SW18 1SL;
  • Promoter’s website developer who also host the website and collate entries for the promotion: F7 Media GmbH – a company registered in Germany with tax number 46/722/02146, whose registered office is at Humboldtstraße 67a 22083 Hamburg Germany; and
  • Other third parties for the purpose of administering the promotion. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

This includes contacting the winner via email and/or publicising information about the prize winner by post and on social media (as required under clause 19 and 20). 

By entering this promotion, entrants agree to the collection and use of their data in this manner. Upon entry, entrants may also be asked if they would like to receive future marketing communications and offers from the Promoter. If entrants choose to receive these future communications, they can opt-out of receiving them at any time.

26. Agreement to Terms and Conditions
By entering this promotion all entrants agree unequivocally to be bound by these terms and conditions.

27. Severability
If any provision or part-provision of these terms and conditions is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it will be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision will be deemed deleted. Any modification to or deletion of a provision or part-provision under this clause will not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of these terms and conditions.

28. English Law
These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law but is subject to the mandatory local law protections for consumers. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
